A Nigerian man, Peter Mbuba, has shared his gratitude to some police officers in Edo State after they came to his rescue when his car broke down on the express road in Okada community.
He explained that while travelling from the East, his tyre suddenly burst at a dangerous spot on the highway. To his surprise, the officers, along with their DPO, quickly stopped to help him fix the tyre and stayed with him until he safely left the risky location.
Peter narrated that on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at about 2:35 pm, he was returning from the East when the unfortunate incident happened near Okada. His vehicle had a burst tyre in a lonely area of the expressway.
While trying to change the tyre, his jack failed, making the situation more difficult. Just then, a police patrol van stopped, and the officers immediately stepped in like “angels sent by God.”
According to him, the officers did not only provide their jack but also helped in replacing the tyre and stayed with him until his vehicle was back on the road.
They even warned him that the location was unsafe, which made their timely intervention even more valuable.
One part that surprised him most was when the policemen refused to accept the money he offered them as appreciation.
Their honesty and selflessness touched him deeply, making him see them as rare examples of integrity in the police force.
Peter highlighted the leadership of the Divisional Police Officer, CSP John Obatoyinbo, who led the team. He praised the DPO for being humble, kind, and supportive.
He added that their actions showed him that there are still noble and trustworthy policemen in Nigeria.
In his heartfelt note, Peter thanked CSP John Obatoyinbo and his team from the Okada Division, praying for God’s blessings upon them.
He said their actions gave him hope and reminded him that not all police officers in Nigeria are corrupt or harsh, as some are truly dedicated to serving humanity.
