Coventry City boss Frank Lampard is interested in signing Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell during this summer’s transfer window.
Reports from club insider Simon Phillips suggest that Lampard is keen on reuniting with Chilwell, who previously played under him at Chelsea.
Lampard was the one who signed Chilwell from Leicester City in 2020 when he was Chelsea manager, and he now hopes to bring him into his Coventry side.
However, Chilwell is no longer part of Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca’s plans, making him available for a move away from the club.
The 28-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace but has not made any appearances for Chelsea so far this campaign.
With Chelsea open to letting him go, Chilwell is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer window shuts next week.
