‘Walking Dead’ star Norman Reedus’ troubled son makes alarming threat after allegedly assaulting girlfriend

Mingus Reedus, 25, the son of “Walking Dead” actor Norman Reedus and supermodel Helena Christensen, was seen outside his New York City apartment on Sunday, August 24, a day after his arrest for allegedly attacking his girlfriend. While speaking to reporters, he asked, “Do you want to watch me kill myself?”

He was dressed in the same green shorts and black T-shirt he wore to court and carried his cat in a bag as he walked. He also called a reporter “ugly” when leaving Manhattan Criminal Court on Saturday, August 23.

Police say Mingus punched his 33-year-old girlfriend in the leg, choked her, and pushed her to the ground in their Manhattan apartment.

He faces multiple charges, including criminal obstruction of breathing, third-degree assault, reckless physical injury, aggravated harassment, and second-degree harassment. Mingus has denied all allegations.

His lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, said Mingus is concerned about his ex-girlfriend. She added that the relationship ended about five months ago, and the woman reportedly tried to take sleeping pills to commit suicide. She also said that she has moved out, is not afraid of Mingus, and does not want to press charges.

A court has now issued an order requiring Mingus to stay away from his ex-girlfriend.

Mingus has modeled professionally since 2017. He is the only child of Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen, who split in 2003 but have maintained a friendly co-parenting relationship.

Norman Reedus is now engaged to actress Diane Kruger, and they have a daughter, Nova Tennessee.
