Nigerian music star Burna Boy has spoken about the strange belief that his success comes from not shaving his armpits, with some linking it to voodoo.
According to DAILY POST, images of Burna Boy showing his unshaved armpits have sparked conversations and reactions online multiple times.
In a chat with Apple Music, the Grammy-winning artist called these rumors amusing.
When asked about common misconceptions people have about him, Burna Boy said: “One is that I don’t like to shave my armpits. Some people think it’s like Samson in the Bible, that my power is in my hair.”
He added, “Some claim my strength comes from my armpits because I don’t shave. In Nigeria, people sometimes believe wild things. Some think it’s voodoo, that my power is in my armpits [laughs]. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s just nonsense. I even tried to see if it could be real.”
