In a tragic turn of events, suspected kidnappers have attacked a mining site in Zango City, located on the outskirts of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State. The incident, which took place on Monday, July 22, resulted in the abduction of two Chinese nationals and the deaths of five Nigerians.

Around 5 pm on that fateful evening, a group of about 20 armed men stormed the mining site. Witnesses reported that the gunmen began the assault by shooting sporadically into the air, creating chaos and fear among those present. The attack lasted for approximately 45 minutes.
Casualties and Kidnapping
The violent attack claimed the lives of five individuals, including three vigilante members and two staff members of the mining site. After causing significant destruction and loss of life, the gunmen abducted two Chinese citizens working at the site.
