Rights activist Aisha Yesufu has criticized Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu.

She said that Onanuga should be removed from his position immediately.

Yesufu’s comments came after Onanuga mocked prominent opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, following the victories of the All Progressives Congress in Saturday’s bye-elections.

Onanuga had posted on X, referring to the African Democratic Congress’ poor performance, asking: “How is the market now.”

In response, Yesufu expressed outrage, saying that if a message like this were put out by the President or a top aide, the person should be fired at once.

She also added that since Nigeria currently doesn’t have a President in her view, “anything goes,” and expressed concern over the state of the nation.
