Dancer Kafayat Shafau, popularly called Kaffy, has opened up about the difficulties of dating as a divorced single mother.

During a guest appearance on the podcast The Honest Bunch, Kaffy, who separated from her ex-husband Joseph Ameh, shared that some men are hesitant to date her because she already has children.

She revealed, “I’ve had someone tell me they couldn’t date me because I have two kids. But why assume a divorced woman isn’t a good partner if she has grown and worked on herself? There’s no guarantee that two unmarried people won’t face divorce in the future.

Many people believe they need a ‘fresh’ partner, yet over 70% of marriages still end in divorce. We all face the same challenges in relationships.”

Kaffy also discussed her thoughts on love and the feeling of “butterflies” in the stomach.

She explained, “A lot of the butterflies people feel are actually a reaction to past trauma. True love should make you feel calm and peaceful, not anxious or nervous. Real love is not supposed to make you stressed.”
