The person who made that indecent video should face the law – Comedian Bovi makes U-turn; calls for release of Ibom Air female passenger

Nigerian comedian and actor, Bovi Ugboma, has spoken out against the sharing of a video showing Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, in a compromising situation.

He said the airline worker who posted the footage without censorship should be held legally responsible.

In an Instagram story shared on Tuesday, Bovi explained that this was a shift from his earlier stance, where he suggested that Ms. Emmanson should face legal consequences and undergo mental health treatment, calling her behaviour a possible manic episode.

Bovi revealed that after watching the uncensored clip circulating on social media, he decided to delete his original statement. He stressed that the public exposure of Ms. Emmanson’s body was wrong and unacceptable.

Revising his opinion on the matter, Bovi urged for Ms. Emmanson’s release. He also pointed out that being detained by a civilian, as the air hostess allegedly did, could be emotionally triggering for some individuals.

He further wrote, “The person who posted that video without blurring the lady’s exposed body should face the law. And if an air hostess has no legal right to detain a passenger, then she should be freed immediately.”

Bovi concluded by stating that unlawful detention by another citizen can be enough to cause distress, and if the action wasn’t legally justified, the whole case should be dismissed.
