A fire has destroyed goods and property valued at millions of naira in a variety store located in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, according to DAILY POST reports.

The incident happened at Radex variety store in the Bolanta Area, Oja-Igbo part of Ogbomoso.

Sources say the fire broke out on Friday night, around 10:00 PM.

It was reported that the cause of the fire was a sudden surge in electrical power.

Upon arrival, our correspondent saw the variety store engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly took control of the blaze and worked fast to put it out. They also took the opportunity to educate the local community about fire safety.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire. Only one shop in the market complex was affected. The fire was confirmed to be caused by an electrical power surge. The fire team left the scene around 10:50 PM but remained on standby.
