Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, didn’t ignore a bold comment aimed at him on X. A user on the platform declared that El-Rufai’s political relevance was over due to recent happenings in his career. But in his usual confident manner, El-Rufai responded with a warning—when the time comes for him to speak, the commenter would end up eating their own words.
The comment appears to be tied to El-Rufai’s shifting political path. He has moved across major political parties over time, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and most recently to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The SDP, however, recently announced that El-Rufai had been expelled from the party and handed a 30-year ban.
Despite these setbacks, El-Rufai is far from stepping away from politics. He’s currently active within the ADC, working closely with party members in a bid to challenge the current leadership and push for change at the top level of government. His response on X suggests he still has plans in motion and isn’t ready to be written off just yet.
