A young woman living with cerebral palsy has spoken out after being insulted by an internet troll. In a video that has gained attention online, she responded to someone who called her an “imb*cile,” using the moment to send a clear message about online behaviour.
She said it’s fine if people don’t like her, but that doesn’t give them the right to be rude or hateful. According to her, posting mean comments just to hurt someone is not necessary. Everyone should think twice before dropping negative remarks under posts they disagree with.
The woman also warned that life can change quickly. The same people making fun of her today could find themselves in similar situations in the future — even having a child like her. She reminded viewers that no one knows what the future holds, so it’s important to treat others with care and compassion.
She ended her message by telling people to be more thoughtful when using social media. Online, we rarely know who the other person really is, and our words can do more damage than we realize. Her message was simple but powerful: be kind.
