Suspected Boko Haram logistics supplier arrested in Borno

Troops from Operation Hadin Kai, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a man suspected of supplying materials to Boko Haram in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

The suspect, Ahmadu Mohammed Dogo, was caught around 11:50 a.m. on Monday at Muna Garage after the military received reliable information.

Reports say he was trying to smuggle Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, by hiding it in plastic energy drink bottles. These bottles were stuffed into 12 sacks to avoid raising suspicion.

During interrogation, he allegedly confessed that the fuel was meant for delivery to Gamboru-Ngala, a town near the border that is believed to serve as a major supply route for insurgents operating near Lake Chad.

The military recovered several items from him, including the bottles filled with fuel, charms, suspected drugs, rings, syringes, and other personal belongings.

Security sources stated that this arrest is part of ongoing efforts to break Boko Haram’s supply and funding links in the region.

The suspect is currently being held in military custody for further questioning.
