Police in Plateau State have arrested two men in connection with the suspected killing of a 29-year-old University of Jos student.

The student, identified as Daniel Umar Izang, was found unconscious at the Rusau Village Hostel on August 2, 2025. Friends rushed him to Asibiti Clinic near the university’s permanent site, but sadly, doctors confirmed his death upon arrival.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the university’s Chief Security Officer, Mr. Agama Tangur, reported the tragic incident to the police on August 4.

Initial investigations revealed signs of violence on Daniel’s body, suggesting that his death may have involved foul play.

Following a visit to the scene, the police arrested two suspects: 25-year-old Moses Joel and 25-year-old Naanmang Kadaura.

Daniel’s remains have been taken to the Plateau Specialists Hospital mortuary for autopsy. Meanwhile, police investigations are still ongoing to uncover the full story behind his death.
