Senegal’s head coach, Souleymane Diallo, has said his team will take on Nigeria with a humble and respectful attitude during their upcoming CHAN 2024 match, according to DAILY POST.

The Senegalese squad, who won the last edition of the tournament, will begin their campaign today against Nigeria’s home-based team. The game will take place at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar. Nigeria’s team is being managed by Eric Chelle.

Senegal’s preparation for the competition hasn’t gone smoothly, as they had a tough time during their warm-up matches. Despite those challenges, the team is determined to do well.

Coach Diallo explained during a press conference that their main aim is to make it out of the group stage. “We didn’t come just to hold on to our title. We came with the mindset of winning again, and that journey starts with getting through the group stage,” he said.

In the same group, Group D, Sudan will be playing against Congo Brazzaville in the second fixture of the day.
