Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has fired back at social media activist Verydarkman over his recent claims about her. He alleged that she went back on a deal to publicly apologise to Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
Verydarkman said the agreement was made during a meeting at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre. Present at the meeting were Iyabo Ojo, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Tonto Dikeh and their legal teams.
Iyabo has denied this story, calling Verydarkman manipulative and dishonest. She described him as someone who twists the truth and plays mind games.
She explained that her actions against Naira Marley and Sam Larry were based on real concerns. After singer Mohbad’s death, several disturbing videos surfaced online.
One video showed Sam Larry mocking the late singer, while another showed a physical attack. These convinced her that Mohbad was bullied.
She addressed Verydarkman directly, saying she saw his video and understood why he made it. She believed the police must have informed him that she had submitted a petition against him, prompting his usual defensive tactics.
Iyabo described herself as a wise woman who knows when to act, listen or speak. She criticised Verydarkman for being inconsistent and urged people to stop believing him.
She also clarified her connection to Naira Marley. She said she had never met him and only helped promote his music on social media. She received the police invitation while travelling to Tanzania for her daughter Priscilla’s wedding.
Iyabo admitted that seeing Naira Marley dancing after Mohbad’s death made her angry.
She said she firmly believed the bullying claims after watching the video of Sam Larry confronting Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad. As a mother and a concerned citizen, she felt the need to speak out using her platform.
