Popular Nigerian car dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, better known as IVD, was reportedly arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

According to reports, IVD was taken into custody on Friday by officials from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions. He was said to be on his way to Qatar for his upcoming wedding with Blessing CEO, who is known for sharing controversial relationship advice online.

On Saturday, blogger Stella Dimoko-Korkus reacted to the news on Instagram. She said that IVD’s arrest is connected to the ongoing court case involving the death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.

She explained that IVD is still facing a domestic violence charge related to Bimbo’s death and is not allowed to leave Nigeria until the legal matter is concluded.

Bimbo died in October 2022 after suffering serious burns during a fire incident at their home. The fire was reportedly a result of domestic violence.

The Lagos State Government has charged IVD with involuntary manslaughter in the case with suit number LD/21055C/23.
