President Trump seriously ”considering a pardon for Diddy” as he awaits sentencing in jail

U.S. President Donald Trump may be planning to pardon rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently in a Brooklyn jail waiting to be sentenced.

According to Deadline, Trump is giving serious thought to the idea as Diddy awaits punishment for prostitution-related crimes. A source said Trump is no longer just casually thinking about it, but is taking real steps toward possibly pardoning him.

Earlier this month, the 55-year-old music star was cleared of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. However, he was found guilty of two lesser charges for arranging transport for prostitution.

Diddy’s sentencing is scheduled for October 3, and he could face up to 10 years in prison.

Talks about a possible presidential pardon have been going on since his trial started. Back in May, Trump hinted that he was open to the idea. He said no one had directly asked him to pardon Diddy but believed some people were thinking about it.

Trump also said he wasn’t fully following the case but knew it was getting a lot of media attention. He admitted he hasn’t spoken to Diddy in years and thinks their friendship may have ended when he entered politics.

Still, Trump said he would look at the facts of the case. He explained that even if someone doesn’t like him, it wouldn’t stop him from granting a pardon if he felt they were treated unfairly.

Attorney John Koufos, who recently met with Trump’s team on pardon matters, told the Daily Mail that Diddy’s case fits into Trump’s focus on fighting unfair legal charges and reducing overcriminalization.
