I’m not intimidated by success of Odumodublvck, Blaqbonez, other young rappers – M.I

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I, has made it clear that he is not bothered by the rising success of young hip-hop artists currently dominating the Nigerian music scene.

M.I recently shared his thoughts about the growing influence of younger rappers in the country. He acknowledged that these new acts are making big moves in the industry but said he sees no reason to feel threatened.

The rapper, who is known for his hit “African Rapper No. 1,” praised the hard work and talent of the younger generation. He said he respects what they’re doing and admires their dedication to the craft.

Even though rappers like Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez are making headlines and gaining massive fan bases, M.I said their achievements do not shake his confidence. According to him, their success doesn’t take anything away from his own legacy or skill.

During an interview on “Jay On Air,” M.I mentioned Odumodublvck, Shallipopi, Ladipoe, and Falz as rappers who are currently making waves. However, he emphasized that he doesn’t feel outdated or less talented. What matters to him is who can actually out-rap him in the studio.

“I don’t feel like the old guy when it comes to rap skills,” he said. “What I focus on is whether someone can outrap me when we’re in the same room.”

M.I also said he enjoys what Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez are doing musically. He appreciates their creativity but doesn’t feel intimidated. He pointed out that while artists like Davido and Wizkid are currently enjoying red-hot fame, he is in a different space that doesn’t require him to compete.
