Kidnappers threaten to k!ll six abducted law school students over unpaid ransom

Six students of the Nigerian Law School are in danger after being kidnapped by gunmen who are now threatening to take their lives if a ransom is not paid soon.

The students were on their way to the Yola campus of the Nigerian Law School in Adamawa State. They were travelling from Onitsha in Anambra State and got abducted along a road between Benue and Nasarawa States on Saturday, July 26.

One of their classmates, Damilare Adenola, identified the kidnapped victims as Rev. Ernest Okafor, Ogbuka Fabian, Nwamma Philip, Okechukwu Obadiegwu, Obalem Emmanuel, and Obiorah David.

The kidnappers first asked for N20 million for each student to be released. Families and friends of the victims were contacted with the ransom demands.

But according to a recent report by Punch on Monday, July 28, the kidnappers have now increased the demand to N50 million. They also warned that they would kill the students if their conditions are not followed.

A person who listened to a phone call between one of the students and the kidnappers said the criminals were serious. “They told us not to contact the police or anyone else. They said they’re monitoring everything and will kill the students if we disobey or delay,” the source explained.
