Charly Boy reacts to renaming of Lagos bus stop after rapper, Olamide

Popular Nigerian entertainer, Charly Boy, has finally reacted after his name was taken off a well-known Lagos bus stop.

The bus stop, which was previously called Charly Boy Bus Stop, has now been renamed Olamide Baddo Bus Stop. The decision was made by the Bariga Local Government Development Authority (LVDA) to honour famous rapper Olamide, who hails from that area.

The name change happened on Friday, July 25, and sparked different opinions. Some Nigerians felt it was a good way to celebrate Olamide’s success, while others believed it had political motives — possibly due to Charly Boy’s strong criticism of the current government.

Without mentioning names, Charly Boy took to his social media to share what many are calling a bold response. He posted a photo with a short but loaded message:

“Bus Stop or no bus stop,
Fada no dey finish.
Go verify.
Dia Father’s left Nyash.”

Though unclear to some, the post seems to show that Charly Boy isn’t shaken by the move. He appears to be saying that whether or not his name is on a signboard, his influence remains.

Fans reacted with support, saying that legacies go beyond titles or locations. To them, Charly Boy’s work and message still speak loudly.
