President Bola Tinubu is getting ready to honour 210 former members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who served between 2020 and 2023.
This announcement was made in a statement by the NYSC’s Director of Media, Mr Emeka Mgbemena, on Saturday in Abuja.
According to the statement, the award event will take place on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa.
Out of the 210 awardees, 200 are being recognised for doing exceptionally well in the main NYSC areas. These include the Orientation Course, Primary Place of Assignment, Community Development Projects, and the final Passing-Out ceremony.
The remaining 10 people to be honoured are ex-corps members who sadly got permanently injured while serving the country. They will be recognised under the NYSC Hope Alive Initiative.
The Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, along with the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, and other top NYSC officials are excited to welcome the awardees and their guests to the celebration.
