Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has spoken about the emotional birthday message he posted for actress Kate Henshaw that went viral earlier this year. In a recent interview, Jim said he meant every word in the message and wasn’t trying to impress or please anyone.

He explained that the post was simply a reflection of his long and deep friendship with Kate, which has lasted over twenty years. Jim described Kate as one of the very few people in his life who he can talk to openly without fear of being judged. He even referred to her as “his boy,” meaning she’s someone he completely trusts and can be himself around, without any romantic or sexual interest.

He made it clear that many people misunderstood the tone of the message. He said there was nothing romantic or sexual in it at all. For him, Kate is a true friend who gives him honest advice and supports him. Jim added that people misread the message and imagined things that weren’t there.

According to him, many took the message too far and gave it meanings he never intended. He ended by saying he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation. He expressed his feelings in his own way, and how others choose to understand it is not his concern.
