On Thursday, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) acted quickly after receiving an emergency signal about the Britania U drilling platform. The vessel was in distress at Ajakpa Field (OML 90), located 10.77 nautical miles south of Forcados Terminal in Delta State, Nigeria.
According to NIMASA’s Head of Public Relations, Osagie Edward, all 19 crew members aboard the platform were rescued safely. NIMASA collaborated with other agencies and first responders to ensure a smooth and safe evacuation of the crew and any other individuals at risk.
