Former President Donald Trump has vowed to launch the largest deportation operation in U.S. history if he wins the 2024 election. Speaking at a campaign rally in Freeland, Michigan, Trump outlined his plan for a record-setting deportation effort.
Trump emphasized his intention to start mass deportations immediately after taking office next January. He plans to conduct extensive raids in major cities, anticipating resistance from Democratic leaders.
“On day one, we will begin the largest domestic deportation operation in American history,” Trump declared at the rally.
He claimed that millions of immigrants were entering the country from foreign prisons and mental institutions, causing widespread crime and destruction in American suburbs, cities, and towns.
Immigration experts believe Trump’s proposed deportation strategy will surpass any previous efforts. During his first term, his attempts at workplace raids were largely blocked by the courts.
David Leopold, former president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, urged people to take Trump’s threats seriously. “When he talks about mass deportation – in boxcars, or bus loads, or planes, or whatever – that’s what he’s going to do,” Leopold warned.
