Amaechi’s Wife Denies Monthly NDDC Payment, Dares Wike To Publish Audit

Dame Judith Amaechi, the wife of former transportation minister Rotimi Amaechi, has denied the claim that she got ₦4 billion monthly from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

This follows recent comments by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, who said President Tinubu should release the NDDC’s forensic audit. According to Wike, the report allegedly shows that Dame Amaechi benefited from the commission.

Wike also claimed that the audit was hidden to protect those involved in corruption.

But in a statement released by her media assistant, Dike Bekwele, Dame Amaechi called Wike’s claims baseless and misleading.

She said Wike’s allegations are just a way to destroy her image and the NGO she founded, called Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI).

According to her, ESI has always had a clean and open relationship with the NDDC.

She also explained that since the audit report has not been released to the public, any accusation based on it has no truth.

In her words, the claim that she received ₦4 billion every month from NDDC is not just false but made up entirely by Wike.

She added that their partnership with NDDC has always been open to the public, and there’s nothing to hide.

Dame Amaechi said it makes no sense for Wike to claim she or her NGO was indicted in a report that no one has seen.

She advised Wike to be patient and wait for the audit report he is talking about, instead of accusing people on national TV.

She then challenged Wike to release the report if he has it and prove that she or ESI was involved in any wrongdoing.

Finally, she said if Wike cannot produce this evidence, he should step down as FCT Minister and apologize to Nigerians.
