Edo State’s reinstated Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has declared that he will remain in his position until November 11, when the state’s governorship election is scheduled to occur. Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Shaibu stated that he would resume his duties today following an Abuja Federal High Court’s decision affirming his role as deputy governor.

Shaibu accused Governor Godwin Obaseki of not paying his salary for the past year, despite his elected status.

He emphasized his commitment to peace and law, stating,

“I am a law-abiding citizen and I will go to the office this morning. If they want to stop me, they should. I will not do anything that would lead to the loss of life. The office of the deputy governor must be given its rightful respect.”

Shaibu expressed his intention to continue his work, whether or not he is able to meet with Governor Obaseki. He reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling his responsibilities until the upcoming election.
