Two young men have been killed and many cows stolen after bandits attacked a rural community in Katsina State.
Armed bandits raided Layin Minister village in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina on Monday evening. During the violent attack, they killed two young men and escaped with a large number of stolen cattle.
The attackers entered the village around sunset, firing their guns wildly into the air. Villagers ran in different directions to save their lives, while the bandits took advantage of the confusion to steal livestock and flee.
A security expert known as Bakatsine shared the news on social media platform X. He confirmed that two young people were killed and many cattle were rustled during the attack.
A resident of the village also confirmed the incident. He said the bandits came on motorcycles and were heavily armed. The attack happened quickly, and no one was able to stop them.
“They came in with guns and started shooting. Two young men died immediately. They also took away a large number of cattle,” the resident added.
This is one of many attacks in rural parts of Katsina State, where communities continue to face insecurity and live in fear of armed group.
