Reuben Abati, a popular Nigerian media personality and former aide to the president, has strongly criticized Kemi Badenoch, calling her a hypocrite.

According to Abati, Badenoch was only trying to sound politically correct when she complained about not being able to pass her Nigerian citizenship to her children.

Badenoch, who is the leader of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom, recently claimed that she cannot give her children Nigerian citizenship because she is a woman.

She made this statement during an interview on Sunday with CNN journalist Fareed Zakaria. During the conversation, Badenoch compared immigration laws in Nigeria and the UK.

She said that many immigrants often take advantage of the UK’s system in ways they wouldn’t try in their home countries.

To support her point, Badenoch brought up how her own children were unable to get Nigerian citizenship, blaming it on her gender.
