Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has dropped a hint that the club might soon sign Sporting CP striker, Viktor Gyokeres.
The North London team has been trying for a while to secure Gyokeres, who is eager to return to play in England.
Even though both clubs have agreed on a £63 million transfer, Sporting CP wants to make sure the extra payments in the deal are simple and likely to be met.
When Arteta was asked about the Gyokeres deal after Arsenal arrived in Singapore for their preseason tour, he didn’t say much. He simply responded, “I cannot comment on any player who is not part of our group yet.”
Speaking about other possible new signings joining Arsenal during their tour in Asia, Arteta said there is still time before the transfer window closes and admitted the squad doesn’t have enough players yet.
