Club World Cup: FIFA strips Man City, Real Madrid, Man Utd of titles

FIFA has taken away the Club World Cup titles from top English clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool. These teams, along with past winners such as Real Madrid and Barcelona, will no longer be called Club World Cup champions. Instead, FIFA has renamed them “FIFA Intercontinental Champions.”

According to the Daily Mail, FIFA now recognizes Chelsea as the first official winner of the new version of the tournament. This means Chelsea is the only team that can be called “world champions.”

Chelsea earned this title after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final match of the 2025 Club World Cup. The team, led by manager Enzo Maresca, gave an outstanding performance to lift the trophy.

The 2025 edition of the Club World Cup featured 32 teams from six football regions across the world. The next tournament will take place in 2029. So far, clubs like PSG, Al Hilal, Cruz Azul, and Pyramids FC have already booked their spots after winning their respective continental competitions last season.
