Nigeria’s Economy in Crisis, Says Dele Momodu

Dele Momodu, a senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has raised concerns over the dire state of Nigeria’s economy, attributing its collapse to the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Momodu pointed out that Tinubu’s government is engaging in reckless spending, including purchasing private jets, constructing expensive monuments, and distributing cash as palliatives, rather than addressing the core issues of the economy.

In a heartfelt letter posted on Facebook, Momodu expressed that such wasteful expenditures are indicative of a failing administration. He urged President Tinubu to adopt a more frugal approach to government spending to free up resources for much-needed development.

He wrote, “Nigeria is in big trouble. Our economy has nearly collapsed. You’ve been wasting too much money when we need to be very careful with spending.

“Stop this wasteful use of our limited resources. Buying Presidential jets, building expensive monuments, and handing out cash as palliatives are signs of a failed government.

“If you reduce your government’s spending, you will have more resources for real development.”

Momodu’s message is clear: to salvage Nigeria’s economy, the government must curtail its excessive spending and prioritize the efficient use of available resources.
