Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has shared some personal advice he received from the late former President Muhammadu Buhari before he passed away.
Radda explained that during their conversations, Buhari encouraged him to lead honestly and do his best, knowing that it’s impossible to make every Nigerian happy.
He said Buhari told him clearly that only God can satisfy the needs and expectations of Nigerians, no matter how much effort a leader puts in.
The governor shared this memory with reporters during Buhari’s burial in Daura, Katsina State, on Tuesday.
The late President died in London and was buried with full military honors in his hometown of Daura.
Governor Radda also spoke warmly about Buhari’s personality, describing him as a cheerful and humorous man who made people laugh easily.
He said, “After he left office in 2023, Buhari lived in Daura for two years. I had more time to visit and talk to him about Nigeria. He was very funny and always full of jokes.”
Radda added, “He often told me, ‘Just do your best and be an honest leader. You can’t please all Nigerians — only God can do that.’ He said he suffered a lot during his time in office, but now feels free and at peace”.
