Popular Nigerian actress Ini Dima-Okojie has shared on Instagram that her fibroids have returned, despite having surgery to remove them two years ago.

Ini first discovered she had fibroids in 2017 and underwent a myomectomy, a surgery to remove fibroids, in 2022. She had hoped the surgery would be a permanent solution, but she has started to notice the symptoms again.

In her Instagram post, Ini encouraged women to get tested early if they experience symptoms. She mentioned that she plans to try a different treatment to shrink the fibroids this time, hoping for a long-term solution.

“My Fibroid Journey! I never imagined I’d be sharing this again after my last update on 30/12/2020, but here I am. My journey with fibroids isn’t over—I recently learned they’ve returned.

To every woman dealing with fibroids, I want you to know I see you. It’s not an easy journey, but my hope is that we can change the narrative and find a real and permanent remedy for fibroids,”
