Voting has officially started at the polling station where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is expected to vote. The polling unit is located at St. Stephen’s Nursery and Primary School in Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island.
The local government election, which is to choose new chairmen and councillors in the state, kicked off right on time at 8 a.m. The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) officers arrived early and immediately began the voting process.
One of the first people to vote was Jubril Gawat, who works as the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Sanwo-Olu. He cast his vote at the same polling unit.
There was also a good number of police officers present at the polling station to maintain peace and make sure everything went smoothly.
This local government election is happening across all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.
