A man who spent 25 years in Kirikiri Maximum Prison over a generator-related case has finally been released. A touching video has gone viral showing the moment he emotionally reunited with his elderly mother. It was a moment filled with tears, hugs, and disbelief.

The man was accused in 1999 along with a driver and a generator repairman of stealing a generator. Sadly, all three were jailed, even though reports say the real thief was freed back in 2016.

According to sources, the man had not even been convicted. He was just waiting for trial since 1999 but never got one. Because the justice system was so slow, he stayed in prison for over two decades.

To make matters worse, the person who actually stole the generator was quietly released, while the innocent ones continued to suffer in silence. They were forgotten by the system and had no one to fight for them for years.

Thankfully, Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, stepped in to help. With his support, the wrongly imprisoned men were finally released and allowed to return to their families. This act brought hope and justice to lives that had been stuck in the dark for far too long.

In the emotional reunion video, the freed man is seen hugging his mother tightly. She held onto him with shaking hands, clearly shocked and overwhelmed with joy to see her son again after 25 painful years.
