2027: ‘Lie from pit of hell’ – APC dismisses northern conspiracy against Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has made it clear that the North still supports President Bola Tinubu’s re-election plans for 2027, despite rumours of a planned political betrayal.

This was made known by the party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Bashiru, during a media event hosted by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone B, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Bashiru strongly denied claims that northern leaders are plotting against Tinubu. He described such rumours as “a lie from the pit of hell” and said he speaks based on what he knows for sure.

He explained that Tinubu is still being warmly welcomed across northern cities such as Katsina, Kaduna, Kano, and Gombe.

“It’s totally false to say the North is turning against Tinubu. I say this based on real information, not guesswork,” Bashiru said. He also quoted a famous saying by Amilcar Cabral: “Tell no lies, claim no easy victories.”

Bashiru pointed out that there have been open celebrations in the streets of places like Kano, Katsina, and Gombe, proving that Tinubu is still popular in those areas.

He also mentioned that the song ‘Omo Ologo’ by singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara, made in support of Tinubu, has become very popular in many northern communities.

Lastly, Bashiru dismissed the newly formed opposition group as unimportant. He said it is made up of selfish people with no real political power or influence.
