Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, who most people know as 2Face, has spoken about his breakup with his wife, Annie Idibia. He said even though many people are talking about the situation, he doesn’t think he needs to explain himself to the public.

2Face had earlier shared the news of his separation from Annie on Instagram. This post went viral on Sunday, January 26, 2025, and led to many reactions online.

The talks became louder when he was seen openly with a new partner, Natasha Osawuru. Natasha is a politician and currently serves in the Edo State House of Assembly.

Speaking about all the attention his breakup got, 2Face told the 234 Mzansi Podcast that the only people who truly deserve to hear his reasons are his children.

He clearly stated, “My kids are the only people I owe an explanation.”

The singer also said he and Annie decided to end things because their marriage wasn’t working anymore. He didn’t say anything bad about her, instead he called her an “amazing person.”

2Face also said that even though they tried to fix their marriage, their efforts were not enough to keep it going.

2Face and Annie had been married since May 2012. The couple has two daughters together, Isabella and Olivia.
