The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to claims that President Bola Tinubu is not pleased with Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, who recently stepped down as the party’s national chairman.
Some media reports had suggested that Tinubu might be upset with Ganduje, and this could be why he resigned from his position.
Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, addressed the matter during an interview with Channels Television on Sunday. He said the rumours are just guesses.
Morka explained that only President Tinubu can speak about his own thoughts on the issue when he feels ready to do so.
“The President can decide to speak about any issue at any time. He hasn’t said anything about this yet, so people are just making assumptions. But we don’t make decisions based on rumours,” Morka said.
Earlier, DAILY POST reported that Morka had officially announced Ganduje’s resignation from his role as party chairman.
In the statement released, it was confirmed that Ganduje’s resignation took effect right away.
The party explained that Ganduje stepped down to take care of “urgent and important personal matters.”
