I’ve found buyer for TikTok – Trump

Former US President Donald Trump has revealed that TikTok may soon have a new owner. He shared this update during an interview on Sunday.

According to Trump, a group of wealthy individuals is interested in buying the popular social media app. While he didn’t name anyone yet, he said their identities would be made public in about two weeks.

Speaking on the Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures, Trump confirmed, “We have a buyer for TikTok.” He went on to describe the group as “very wealthy people.”

However, Trump noted that the deal might still need approval from the Chinese government. “I think President Xi will probably allow it,” he said, referring to China’s President Xi Jinping.

TikTok is currently owned by ByteDance, a tech company based in China. US officials have raised concerns over national security risks, claiming that the app could be used to collect data on Americans.

Because of these concerns, a law was passed requiring TikTok to be sold or banned. The rule was originally set to take effect just before Trump became president on January 20.

But Trump later put the ban on hold and gave the company more time. In June, he extended the deadline by another 90 days, giving room for a possible sale.

Now, with a group of rich buyers interested and a possible green light from China, TikTok’s future in the US might finally be decided soon.
