A 27-year-old school teacher named Wisdom Anokwuru has been sent to Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly abusing two 8-year-old girls.

The order for his remand was given by Chief Magistrate Mrs. O.O. Kushanu of the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. The court did not allow him to enter a plea.

The Magistrate also directed that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further legal advice.

The next court hearing has been scheduled for September 15, 2025.

The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, said that the alleged incident took place on June 17 at a private school located in Ikotun, Lagos.

He claimed that the teacher took the two girls into the school’s library and touched them inappropriately.

The prosecutor added that the teacher showed the girls a pornographic video on his phone. The girls later reported what happened to the school head, which led to the teacher’s arrest.

The offences reportedly violated sections 135 and 171 of Lagos State’s 2015 criminal laws.
