Cristiano Ronaldo set to sign new two-year contract at Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo is close to signing a new two-year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

His current deal was set to end in June, and this had raised questions about whether he would leave the team.

There was even more confusion when Ronaldo posted “the chapter is over” on social media after the last game of the season, making fans believe he might be moving on.

However, it now looks like the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will remain in Saudi Arabia for a while longer.

Since joining Al-Nassr in December 2022, Ronaldo has been in great form, scoring 99 goals in 111 games. He netted 35 goals last season alone and won the Golden Boot in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo joined the club as a free agent after leaving Manchester United, following an explosive interview where he criticized the Premier League club.

At the moment, Al-Nassr has no manager. They parted ways with coach Stefano Pioli on Wednesday.

Pioli, who had managed top Italian clubs like AC Milan and Inter, was hired in September and led Al-Nassr to finish third in the Saudi Pro League, 13 points behind champions Al-Ittihad.
