Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen recently talked about his unforgettable meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo during a Serie A game in 2021. The Napoli striker recalled the moment in an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze.
Osimhen explained that after Napoli defeated Juventus 1-0, he waited around just to snap a photo with the football legend.
He approached Ronaldo and politely asked for a picture. To his surprise, Ronaldo warmly invited him to the Juventus dressing room for it.
Osimhen quickly made his way there, still wearing his match gear, and waited patiently.
Before meeting Ronaldo, he ran into famous Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Buffon noticed Osimhen and asked him what he needed.
After hearing Osimhen wanted to see Ronaldo, Buffon went to check on him. He came back and said Ronaldo was still working out in the gym, then invited Osimhen to sit and chat while they waited.
The two spent nearly half an hour talking, but Ronaldo hadn’t finished his workout yet. Osimhen ended up waiting an entire hour.
Finally, Ronaldo came out and happily took pictures with Osimhen. He even encouraged him to take more photos.
Ronaldo praised Osimhen’s performance, shook his hand, and told him to keep working hard.
Osimhen described Ronaldo as not just a top player, but also a very kind and impressive person.
Although Osimhen accidentally said Ronaldo scored 37 goals for Juventus that season (when it was actually Ronaldo, not him), the story still shows how much respect he has for the Portuguese star.
