Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a suspended senator representing Kogi Central, has spoken out after being granted bail by a court.
She had been taken to court by the federal government for allegedly making a false accusation. Natasha claimed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi governor Yahaya Bello were involved in planning to kill her.
But on June 19, Justice Chizoba Orji of the FCT High Court ruled that there was no strong reason to keep her in custody. The judge said Natasha had shown enough proof that she is ready to attend her trial.
The court also turned down the request to keep Natasha in prison until the case is over.
After the ruling, Natasha posted a photo with her husband, High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan. In her caption, she wrote joyfully about how the judge said her husband should take her home.
She ended her message by thanking the people of Nigeria, especially those from Kogi Central and the entire Kogi State, for their support.
