In response to the Supreme Court’s decision granting Local Government Areas (LGAs) financial independence, presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga has chastised Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.

A landmark ruling granting LGAs financial autonomy was rendered by the Supreme Court on Thursday, July 11. Nigerians are responding to this verdict in different ways.

Onanuga claimed that Obi’s silence about the verdict demonstrates his willingness to spread rumors against President Tinubu and Nigeria without any proof in a post on X this evening.

The “defeated Labour Party presidential candidate,” as Onanuga put it, is Obi.
