Apostle Johnson Suleman, the leader of Omega Fire Ministries in Auchi, Edo State, has asked the people of Benue to protect themselves. This comes after many attacks by herdsmen in communities across the state.
In a message shared on his official Facebook page, Apostle Suleman blamed the federal government for not doing enough. He said the country’s security system has failed, especially with all the violence happening in Benue and other parts of Nigeria.
He also said that if the government cannot handle the situation, they should admit it. He reminded everyone that self-defence is allowed by the Nigerian Constitution. According to him, he had already spoken about this issue during his past visits to Jos and Benue, and believes the killings must not continue.
Apostle Suleman clearly called on the people of Benue to protect themselves. He described what is happening in the state as wicked, violent, and chaotic.
He also spoke against politicians who are already thinking about the 2027 elections. He said these leaders are ignoring the safety of the people who are suffering now in 2025.
He ended by asking them, “Where is your humanity?” and added a sad comment: “There was a country,” suggesting that Nigeria is not what it used to be.
