“I wish them long life and prosperity” – Comic actor Bishop Umoh reacts to young Nigerian men marrying older women from abroad in hilarious video

Popular Nigerian comedian, Bishop Umoh, also known as Okon Lagos, has joined the conversation about a growing trend — young Nigerian men marrying much older women from other countries. As expected, he reacted in his usual funny and sarcastic style.

In a recent video going viral on social media, Bishop Umoh humorously gave a “blessing” to the older women being brought into Nigeria for marriage by these young men. He wished them a long life and good health — all in a funny and exaggerated way.

“You see all this trend… these are our young young boys, I understand economy no good. But to go and bring ancestress to Ikoyi Registry?” he said, with his signature dramatic tone.

The video seems to make fun of a belief held by many — that some young Nigerian men are not marrying for love, but for benefits like foreign passports, permanent residency, and even the chance to inherit wealth after their older spouse dies.

“You think after 1 or 2 years, then goodbye? Nothing will happen to them. They will stay. They will live. They will live to frustrate your plans. Na you go tire,” he teased.

But Bishop Umoh wasn’t done. He joked that these plans wouldn’t succeed because, according to him, the older women will not die anytime soon. Instead, they’ll live long and enjoy good health — ruining the young men’s so-called “strategy.”

“If I be a man of God… those women you bring, may long life and prosperity follow them. Nothing will happen to them o! If anybody must go, well… your guess is as good as mine,” he added.

Nigerians on the internet are loving the video. Many people are laughing and praising Bishop Umoh for using comedy to highlight a serious issue in a light-hearted way.
