The Yobe State Police Command has reported a significant breakthrough after dismantling a sophisticated kidnapping syndicate operating in Jakusko, following a critical tip-off. During the raid, they successfully rescued a victim who had been abducted from Zaki Local Government Area in Bauchi State. Two suspects, identified as Adamu Dimdo, 23, and Idi Dimdo, 25, were apprehended. Additionally, authorities recovered two AK-47 rifles along with 26 rounds of live ammunition.
In a related development, the police arrested another member of the syndicate, Yau Audu (AKA Chindo), on June 30, 2024, at a marketplace in Garin Alkali. He was found engaging in transactions involving proceeds from criminal activities, including livestock sales. The State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently investigating the case, preparing to arraign the suspects in court in the near future. The police have urged the public to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the syndicate’s alleged mastermind, Babawuro Audu, who remains at large.
