Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has praised President Bola Tinubu’s work in Abuja. He said the president’s development projects have made it very hard for the opposition to come together and challenge his government in the 2027 elections.
Wike made this statement during the launch of several important projects in Abuja. These included the Maitama-Gishiri Bridge and road links connecting Katampe, Jahi, and Mabushi areas.
In recent times, opposition leaders like former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar have been trying to form a united team ahead of the 2027 elections. But their efforts have not gone far due to disagreements within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and problems working with other parties.
Speaking to the people at the event, Wike said that Tinubu’s progress in building roads and other projects has weakened the opposition’s plans.
Wike directly told Tinubu that any hope of the opposition coming together had already failed. He said, “Your good works have killed the coalition.”
He also showed strong support for the Tinubu administration. Wike said some people are never happy no matter what is done. He added that contractors now trust the government again because of how things are improving. He repeated that Tinubu’s achievements have crushed the opposition’s chance of forming a strong group.
