2027: PDP begs Peter Obi to return to party

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has made a strong appeal to Peter Obi, who was the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in 2023, to come back to the PDP.

Peter Obi left the PDP because he felt he could not achieve his goal of becoming president while in the party. That is why he joined the Labour Party for the 2023 elections.

The call for Obi to return came after a big meeting of the PDP State Executive Committee was held in Awka on Thursday. The meeting focused on reviewing the current state of the party and planning for the future.

In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Chidi Chidebe, the party warned that forming alliances with groups that do not share the same ideas may not bring the success the PDP hopes for.

The statement also welcomed back all former members who left the party, especially Peter Obi. The PDP said it is now stronger and better organized, and it wants everyone to come together to work for a better Nigeria.

Chidebe asked voters in Anambra to support the PDP candidates for the upcoming elections: Jude Ezenwafor and his running mate, Francis Okeke. He also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to make sure the elections are free, fair, and transparent.

Finally, the party announced that Chief Clems Ezike has been chosen to fill the vacant National Ex-Officio position from Anambra. The party leaders in the Southeast zone, led by Chief Ali Odefa, were asked to approve and send this nomination to the national party office.
