Friendly: Chelle reshuffles squad for Russia clash

The Super Eagles’ head coach, Eric Chelle, has made some changes to the team for their upcoming friendly game against Russia. This came after a few players got injured and some others had to withdraw for personal reasons.

Several key players will not be joining the squad for this match. Ola Aina, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze, Sadiq Umar, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Nathan Tella have all been excused. Ndidi and Sadiq are both injured and need time to recover. Meanwhile, Aina, Chukwueze, and Iheanacho had to step away from the team to take care of family matters.

Nathan Tella is also missing from the squad because he couldn’t travel with the team. His contract with the club has expired, which made it impossible for him to join the trip.

The Super Eagles arrived in Moscow on Monday. They plan to start their training sessions on Tuesday as they prepare for the game. This friendly match is scheduled for Friday and will take place at the Luzhniki Stadium, a large venue that can hold up to 78,000 fans.

Even with some changes to the team, Coach Chelle and the Super Eagles are focused on putting on a good performance and making the most of this international friendly.
